The National List of Attorneys (The NL) takes privacy, data security, and brand protection seriously.

In plain English: The NL does not share personal information, including email addresses, or claim information unless required for the service you have requested.

Please note: The NL is not a collection agency and does not contact defendants. The NL is not a law firm and does not engage in the practice of law.

  • This policy covers how The NL treats personal information that we collect and receive, including information related to your past use of The NL products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

  • This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that The NL does not own or control, or to people that The NL does not employ or manage.

General

  • The NL collects personal information when you register with The NL, when you use products of The NL, when you visit The NL web pages or the pages of certain partners of The NL.

  • When you register with The NL, we ask for information such as your name, email address, ZIP code, occupation, industry. When you register with The NL and use our products, you are not anonymous to us.
  • The NL retains information about your transactions with us.
  • When you access The NL website, The NL automatically receives and records information about your browser and your computer and/or device, including software and hardware attributes, information from first-party and third-party cookies, and the page(s) you request.
  • The NL website enables Google Analytics Advertising Features, which may from time to time include Google Display Network Impression Reporting, Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting, Remarketing with Google Analytics, and other integrated services that require Google Analytics to to collect data for advertising purposes. Web site visitors can opt-out of these Google Analytics Advertising Features through Ads Settings on your device or browser, or through the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • The National List of Attorneys uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research.

  • The National List of Attorneys does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

    • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of The NL’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
