As proud members of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA), Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP), we attend conferences and conventions held by these organizations regularly. We also attend conferences held in the banking, mortgage foreclosure, credit card and auto financing industries.

Membership with The National List of Attorneys enables your firm to gain marketing support within the credit and debt collection industry. Thousands of businesses utilize our directory, website and complimentary referral services to find legal representation for their collection matters. See what our clients say about us.

From our California, Ohio and North Dakota offices, you can expect our staff to strive diligently in their efforts to promote your firm. Our vast contact base includes credit grantors, debt buyers, collection agencies, national law firms, insurance companies, banks and non-bank lenders, turn around managers, equipment lessors and many more.

The rates charged by lawyers referred by The National List of Attorneys is established and agreed to by the client and the attorney. Most companies that utlitize The National List of Attorneys, however, pay on a contingent fee basis. Contingency fees vary from client to client, but often range from 20%-33% depending on the type of debt, volume of placements, dollar amount of the claim among other things.

We define a commercial claim as a debt against a business. We define a retail claim as a debt against an individual.

Commercial Collection Agencies often forward commercial claims to attorneys on a sliding scale fee structure.

The rates commonly paid to attorneys in the commercial collection industry are as follows:

* 20% of the first $300 collected
* 18% of the next $1700 collected
* 13% thereafter (anything over $2000)

* Often times an attorney will request a suit fee (an additional fee on top of the sliding scale fee structure) in the event suit needs to be filed. A suit fee is often between 2%-10% the balance of the file. It can be contingent or non-contingent.

The National List of Attorneys does not mandate that you work any fee structure. The contingency fee rates we are mentioning above are just a guideline to let you know what our members normally charge.

An attorney must obtain authorization from the client before filing a law suit and must agree to rates, terms and conditions before servicing an account.

Normally, the client advances all costs necessary for suit, such as filing fees, and service fees. Please make sure to communicate with the client to acknowledge their requirements and expectations of your office.

There are hundreds of millions of dollars worth of collection matters being sent to members of The National List of Attorneys each year. If you are willing and able to service collection matters on a contingency fee basis please approve the membership agreement that was emailed to you and return it to our North Dakota office via email at bunrath@nationallist.com, fax (701) 223-5634 or mail 925 Basin Avenue, Ste. 2, Bismarck, ND 58504 along with your payment.

Should you have any questions, please contact Beverly Unrath at (800) 227-1675 Ext. 102. We look forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship with you and your firm.
